School is really cool it is a lot of fun this school-ormps ormiston  primary school,  is cool,  this school is amazing they have lots of fun activities and many more, I know the learning coaches can get angry and they start to shout but there teaching is so awesome my old school is all about fun things but this school has fun and games but more learning the learning coaches work So hard to organise all of the things they are going to do with us during learning time the learning coaches put so much effort in to all the planning they do for us and we all have to do what ever the learning coaches tell you because they put a lot of effort in this and you don't want to let them down they work even harder than we all do. So to me this school is better then any school. The 4 c's is cool  To the school is Awesome the way it is set up the Rulls and things are so cool.🆒🏤🏣ormps

Google Expedition, 7 wonders.

This was so cool I want to do this again. 

okay I am in the 7 wonders and you can't believe it this was the coolest thing ever, we looked at some countries and I liked all of the countries we looked at. But the one I liked the most is seeing a bit of my country Jordan I remember the place we looked at in the country Jordan I remember that went I was (3) years old so that was before (2) years I came to New Zealand. The Google cardbord thing is so cool it was so nice hearing facts about some places in the country. The Google cardboard thing has a phone in it and then these the cardboard whish has two big hole's in the front whish you can see the phone insaid and the phone will be ready to move to defrent countries to anther I liked seeing lots of things seeing the view was lovely to. The thing I  did not like about the Google cardboard thing is that when you look through it hurts because you have the phone so close to your eys it well if cors hurt your eys. The Google cardboard thing is so cool I wish I had one just one right in my hands If it is I well look at all kinds of countries, and so mush fun ☺😄😏👍(100% out of l00%).

So will you are thinking I well tell you how art club is going it is going so so good our first art work we had to do is sowing it is not really art work but it is still a design and it is a art of designing your thing that you do your self. Art club is so fun we also did print art and it was fun we keep on panting, designing and all sort of things. we did this art it was panting and drawing a jaguar we mad a mess of things paint on the flour glitter   every were we made a mess we hared and cleaned. Art club is amazing.

When my friend came back.

On Monday I went to school ready to learn and see my friends I was ready to tell my friend Christian all about my existing weekend but when I got in the class I was surprised that Christian was not there then I weighted for her outside  then it was time to learn and Christian still did not come. I said to myself why did she not come today, so I went to learn when it was morning tea time I had know one to play with😟😔 I was so bored that I just sat and was saying were are you Christian you always make my ibrak so fun then my day was over. The next day I did the same thing but when we lined up to go to Hui I saw here Come in and put here bag away I said fanily you are here I was so bored with out you. So we had a nice day and that is it.😊😄👭

Once I saw a video and it was about a mum and a little kid
This will tell you how you should be careful.

Once this girl was holding here mum's hand and here mum in the other hand was holding her phone and texting here friend while walking.She still was holding here phone and texting and the still was  waking then the mum let go of her daughters hand and the little girl went away.She was about to cross the road and her mum noticed that she was not here so the mum went looking for here all around the City.Then she saw her on the other said of the road. Then the mum said stop don't go any were but the child  crossed the road and a car was coming the mum was shouting nooooooooo😟😦😥😯😔👵
and that was it the girl died.

do you know why she died it is because the mum was not looking after here so who's foelt is it the mum's foelt and not only the mum and the devices so next time when you are going to the shops don't have a devices with you.

Yes it is or last day of practise shake shake shake I tend of the lit's and shake the tabard if you mad it hrou the touch fails this well be your last practice in the multi space thank you. Evrey one went to the multi space and got a ball and started to practise we practice and we practice and we practice tell it is time for class. When school was over we went home then it was morning I woke up 1 and got ready for my big day today when I went to school I saw some people practicimg when we went there we played 10 games to play we played and played we only got 2 try when it was time to see who is the winer ormiston primary did not win so we went back to school and we were so exhausted but when we went home we had a rest so that was the end.

Halloween.

    Halloween 

Halloween was on Saturday as you know, and some people was so exciting they even invited other people from school to trick r treat with them and like on Saturday was so busy knock knock knock a lot of people were knocking on the Dore and like some people don't celebrate Halloween like me I don't celebrate Halloween and they annoy me.
OK one or two people came and knocked on the Dore and they say trick r treat but we had to give them it well be sad if we don't people kept coming and coming but this time a big army of people came but there was a problem we had know more candy left what are we going to do just say we don't have any more cndy said my sister OK we all said so we did that and when ever people come we say the samething but it was amazing how so many people were in one grop coming on my Dore. 

But know it is over but it was quit fun whoop. 

Sadeen's Sunday Garden Dig Narrative

Learning Observed

Our school and learners are on a mission to make our school a place to learn and grow. That’s both us and in the garden! This term, the Yoyo Learning Group have been researching, brainstorming and planning projects to carry out during Term 4. One of the projects is about preparing and planting one of the gardens. It has been decided that pumpkins will take pride of place in some of the bed and the rest will be voted on. To complete the preparation for the bed, learners were invited to come to school on Sunday morning to complete the digging and clearing. It was great to see Sadeen come and get involved, especially as she is in a different learning group. There was lots of collaboration going with tools and jobs. It was hard work clearing many of the well established weeds but Sadeen persisted and worked hard to ensure the soil was ready for action. It will be exciting to observe developments in the coming weeks and to see if we can end up with a harvest of fruit and vegetables in the Summer / Autumn. Hats off also to Sadeen’s sister, Wasaam, who all came to help did. You both did great!

Here are some of the Team clearing the bed. You can see how established the grass and weeds had become! After some stages of work and Sadeen’s hard grafting, the final result is a bed ready to produce next season’s harvest!

Sadeen is participating in an iExperience session. In this session we are focusing on the topic Rights, Responsibilities and Citizenship. Her group collaborated to create their own country. Sadeen participated and contributed to the group in an effective way. She contributed ideas towards how her group could come up with the name for their country. Also she used her thinking skills to come up with reasons for why she felt that her country should have certain rights and responsibilities, such as “being kind to all living things”. By doing this she shows that she is very capable of sharing helpful ideas that contribute towards the progress of her own and others work. During this session she and her group have to manage themselves by deciding who will take responsibility for each of the different parts of the overall task: creating a country name, emblem, motto, flag, national anthem and laws. Sadeen and her group will have to connect each part of the task that they took responsibility for in order to present the country they created.

Holadays

 Hya? It is holaday time. Mum mum what are we going to do in the holadays? I said I don't know my mum replayed. I wish dad doesn't work all day because I wan't to spend time with the hall family doing something nice.

All of the weeks my dad has been working I mean like that is the thing that I did not like because holadays are for spending time with your family. The only time we spend as a family together is on Sundays because my dad does not work on Sundays. So on Sunday it was a lovely sunny day and my mum wanted to go to the beach so we went on the beach we had BBQ we splashed in the water and had a wonderful day.

When it was not Sundays we went  to lots of party's happy birthday party's it was not that much fun but when we sing happy birthday it felt so nice.

2 weeks holadays is over and back to school time tomorrow and I am ready to learn.

Sadeen, Selestine & Louisa's Scratch+Makey Makey Learning Story - September 2015

Learning Observed

For the past few weeks the learners have been engaged in an innovation station!  The learners were given the choice of 4 provocations which included: creating an Ormibot from scratch, designing an object in Tinkercad to print in the 3D printer, designing a Science experiment or designing a series of code using Scratch and Makey Makey each of which would develop their capabilities.  Sadeen, Selestine and Louisa enjoyed the first week of ‘discovery learning’ where they had some choices of tasks to complete to help them get familiar with the coding programme ‘Scratch’ and the extension kit ‘Makey Makey’ and make connections to their prior knowledge.  They watched tutorials, tried out their predictions and played around with the various affordances of the equipment and programme.  They used the Makey Makey and Scratch to create a piano.  Henry also supported these learners with using the Makey Makey- great collaboration.  For Week 9 and 10 the girls worked collaboratively to design and create a piano game using the Scratch programme and Makey Makey equipment.  In order to piece together the code successfully there was a lot of trialling and prototyping which showed the resilience of Selestine, Louisa and Sadeen.  They showed their curiosity, thinking and managing self skills by looking at what others had done and making connections to what they wanted to achieve.  See some of their learning below!

           What I wish in the holidays
Hi I can't what for the holidays. Do you know what I wish in the to weeks  holidays is that I go to my favourite country Jordan. I, I mean I haven't been to Jordan for about (6) years and I keep on thinking what I can do in the to weeks holidays when I came with a grate idea of going to Jordan that is if we can. If we can't I will be imagining of seating in my grandmas living room and playing with the cards. Or if she is cooking my favourite food malkhia. And at night time imagining having here in your room and reading you a lovely story about red raiding hood. And if we do get to go to Jordan I will run to my grandma and give here lots and lots of hags I will give all of the people that I missed in Jordan and when I get there I will help here with cleaning the house and so that's what I wish in the holidays so what do you wish.

                        In the weekends. 

In the weekends on Saturday my dad was working well all of the girls my sister my mum and I place a boy my brother we were in the house we were so bord but then I told my mum if we can go to the park to have fun my mum said is we can but can we go to the mall first so I can bay a gaft for my frends new baby OK I replyd  so we got redy to go then when we got there it toke as 10 minets to find as a parking then at last we fond a parking we went in the mall and went in the flower shop the flower shop did not only have flowers it even had tedy bears and all kind of stafe but my mum pecked this one I was so happy that we pecked this one because I 

liked it as well after we bayed it we went to home so the present dids not get rouend the we went to the park today was fun I said we played and played we had so mach fun and that was the end of ouer day.

Speech competition.

I was so exiting  to now how is the winner for the speech competition.....
the people that  it made it was Kevin, Seth, Mohamed, Aleena, Jahanvi, Ash, Neha and Jessica each of them had terns to say there speech to the audience I enjoyed reading all of  the speeches I liked every single one that I can't even choose one of them there all awesome. drum drum drum roll every on started to do I was so existed to now who came in 3rd place and 2nd place and 1st place 3rd place was Mohamed then 2nd was Aleena and 1st was a new girl Jahanvi. I was so happy maybe jahanvi to. 

my learning this week

This wek was a mazing I realy enjoied doing my blog, iexplore, speech,story bird and mathiletics. evry week for my blog I cand of dont know what to do for frey shoecs but in the end I get a ider in my head and for this week I shoecs to do my learning this week. for my iexplore I need to work harder to get it doun so I can do a nather ieplore for my ather ieplore I have to stell think about that.my speech went good and I got it fineched but I am stil learning it by hart so I don't need qui cards. for story bird I stil did not writ enthing because am geting some help because I don't know how to do a story. and luky last mathilitecs has been fun but I need to work on some and fenech the tacks this week so I can have more. that is what I enjoied douing this week.

Sadeen, Ashmira and Neha's Leadership Learning Story

Learning Observed

Neha, Ashmira and Sadeen are the leaders of Group 2 during iActive time. I have noticed that this term these three learners have really stepped up their leadership skills. I can rely on them to lead the group in activities like Rob the Nest, Line Tag and the Collaboration Station. Neha, Ashmira and Sadeen communicate clearly and simply to everybody, making sure that the other learners understand before proceeding. They are always organised and will make sure that the Group 2 learners from LH1, LH2 and LH4 are organised too. Neha, Ashmira and Sadeen try their hardest to keep to our timeframe and ask questions about what is coming up next or how they could help more. They are a good example of leadership to other learners in our school and I hope they maintain this in the future.

These three girls work collaboratively to set up, lead and pack up for the Group 2 iActive activities every day. The demonstrate that to be good leaders, people must work together for a common goal (Managing Self and Relating to Others). They have developed their capabilities in this area from the beginning of Term 2 until now (Term 3, Week 4) and I am sure this will continue to grow and improve.

Next Learning Steps

Demonstrate the same leadership during learning time in our Habitat and mentor other learners. Recruit younger learners within the group to help with small tasks e.g. counting the balls at the end of Rob the Nest.

Animals from the zoo

what animal are we going to see next? can we see the elphants I sad my grop agred with me so we went to see the ephants and I was so extied to see anjily the elpant i thank anjily's fovouriet animal is elphant's now the zoo is veary fun seeing defrant animals and ieploring new things about animals I can't shoues my fovourit animal becaues I liked all of the animals in the zoo the zoo is fun.

Maori language week Blog post

                            Maori language week

this week is Maori language week and Ormiston primary school had some visitors and they were form Manurewa Intermediate. They came and they showed as a waiata and a haka they were amazing.
they split the big girls with the ormiston girls and the big boys with the ormiston boys. 
The boys were doing the haka and the girls were doing the waiata I did the haka befor know I get to do the waiata I relly injoyed doing the waiata but I did not get to learn becuse we  just had a relly short time but when we shold the little kids what we learnt and when the girls did the waiata and when we fineched the small kids pot ther hand and when the boys finched the haka more hands went up but it did'nt mater because I had fun.
